The Navy-Marine Corps MARS Slow Scan TV Network was established to enhance research and development towards the goal of exchanging pictures between service personnel, their families and friends.
Technical topics concerning latest developments in SSTV equipment and software are discussed on this network. Actual exchange of pictures is conducted frequently using various modes and speeds to determine best quality, propagation paths and efficiency.
Members with stations capable of operating on the network (i.e., stations with SSTV capability), should request assignment to the network, listing equipment capability to indicate their interest and to ensure receipt of any research and development information promulgated by members of the network.
